Lyttelton
Just 12 km from Christchurch is the flooded crater of a volcano. There are many cruises on the harbour.
Methven
Methven is the base for the Mt Hutt ski area and a popular winter resort about one hour from Christchurch. Methven has all the facilities expected of a ski destination and is also a popular summer resort with walks, fishing, golf and lots more.
